Research Interests

I am a human behavioral ecologist. My research focuses on a variety of questions related to reproductive decision-making and parental investment, and on understanding the social environment as a critical influence on how people negotiate life history trade-offs. I currently conduct fieldwork with the Himba in northwest Namibia and the Martu in the Western Desest of Australia. My research focuses mainly on the effect of familial and social relationships on health and well-being.
